Real People, Real Changes

Patricia Charles

“Best program ever”

I’ve had aides in the past, but it always ended badly. This is one of the best programs ever. I’m so happy that my niece is helping me.

Richard Branker

“Mom is getting stronger, and it feels so good”

We brought in a couple of aides for my mother, but I could tell she wasn’t happy. Now I get to care for Mom daily — and she’s smiling and laughing. I feel really good, knowing she’s getting stronger each day.

Elizabeth Salley

“Her face lit up!”

It was hard, because I didn’t want to leave my mom at home – I was scared she’d leave the stove on or get hurt. And you only get one mother. Now I get to have a job AND care for my mom at once. It’s literally PERFECT.

If you have Medicaid, you can apply

Do you have this Medicaid card?

FreedomCare is a Medicaid program, so your caregiver will be paid through Medicaid. (Unfortunately, Medicare is NOT enough under current government regulations.)

Hire a family member or friend to care for you — and Caregivers get paid right after their shift!

We pay on time, every time through the Medicaid Home Care Program.

Get Paid to Take Care of a Family Member

The Pennsylvania Medicaid Home Care initiative allows consumers to choose and hire their own personal caregiver. This includes friends and family members (as long as they are not the patient’s spouse). Which means….You can care for a family member and get paid!

No one can take care of you like family or close friends. To them, your health is more than just a job. Of course, you don’t want to be a burden to your loved ones. That’s where the Medicaid Home Care Program comes in. After you enroll, your chosen caregiver will get paid for taking care of you.

You must use a Fiscal Intermediary to ensure your chosen caregiver gets paid. FreedomCare is the leading fiscal intermediary in the state and will help guide you through the process.

About Pittsburgh PA:

Pittsburgh, nestled at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, is a vibrant city in southwestern Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh stands out as the second-most populous city in the state after Philadelphia. Here’s a glimpse of what makes Pittsburgh special:

Bridges and Rivers: Known as the “City of Bridges,” Pittsburgh boasts more than 446 bridges, connecting its diverse neighborhoods. The three rivers—Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio—shape the city’s landscape, creating picturesque views.

Cultural Gems: Art enthusiasts can explore the Andy Warhol Museum, dedicated to the iconic pop artist. The Phipps Conservatory and the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden both offer a serene escape with its lush greenery and vibrant blooms.

Duquesne Incline: Hop on the historic Duquesne Incline, which has been transporting visitors up Mount Washington since the 1870s. From the top, enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the city, where the rivers converge. At night, the illuminated skyline adds to the magic.

Sports and Cuisine: Catch a baseball game at PNC Park or cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Foodies will relish Pittsburgh’s culinary scene, from pierogies to hearty sandwiches.

In this city of steel and innovation, history meets modernity, creating a dynamic blend that captivates both residents and visitors alike.
